On this page:The Socialist Youth (solid - die sozialistische jugend), was founded in June of 1999 as a youth organization close to the PDS. The abbreviation "solid" certainly recalls "solidarity", but officially it stands for "socialist, left, democratic" (sozialistisch, links, demokratisch).

At the 1st May 2002 demonstration in Munich, the flag of the PDS youth organization solid - die sozialistische jugend (solid - the socialist youth) could be seen. Since April 2000 they use the flag. The flag shows the logo on a white field; the logo contains the texts "['solid]" and "die sozialistische jugend" in black and an upward red
arrow. Sources: Author's own observations during demonstrations in Munich, 1 May 2001 and 1 May
2002; PDS website; "solid" website; and e-mail from solid, dated 4 October 2001.

At the 1st May 2002 demonstration in Munich, a quite interesting, obviously homemade, flag incorporated two PDS flags and two solid flags.
